Golf concludes final 18 at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club

MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Montana women's golf team concluded its final round of 18 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, where they finished 20th out of 22 teams. The Griz scored rounds of 312-322-310, leaving the last round to be their best round.
"I'm not too happy with our overall scores today and finish in the tournament. We hope to do much better next week to get some momentum for the Big Sky Conference championships," said head coach Kris Nord.
Senior Kylie Esh led the team throughout the two-day tournament, finishing the last round one under par, tying her career-best. Esh tallied three birdies on the day, helping her end the tournament tied for 38th place overall.
"Kylie putted great today. She managed the course and her emotions real well," said Nord.
Jessica Ponce scored 78 in her final round, logging one birdie. Scoring 234 for the entire tournament landed Ponce tied for 71st overall.
Allison Sobol posted a score of 81 in her final 18, making her overall score in the tournament 243.
As with Sobol, junior Tricia Joyce finished the tournament scoring 243 but posted a score of 80 in her final round, which was also her best round of the tournament.
Sophomore Madison Cecil ended the tournament scoring 81 in the third round, making her overall score 249.
The Griz will be back in action, Monday-Tuesday, April 11-12, where they will travel to Goodyear, Ariz., to compete in the Bobcat Desert Classic.
