GRIZ LAST TWO GAMES: At Weber State 68, Montanan 63: The Grizzlies gave the league-favorite Wildcats all that they could handle, but it wasn't quite enough. It was an intense contest featuring two of the Big Sky's premier programs over the past several years, with 15 lead changes and 11 ties.
Senior G/F Kareem Jamar led the Griz with 20 points, while junior forward Mike Weisner, scored a career-high 17 points. Jordan Gregory chipped in 13 points, while fellow junior guard Keron DeShields added 11.
Montana 59, at ISU 54: Freshman guard Mario Dunn hit a three-pointer with 1:04 to go to give UM the lead for good. DeShields and Gregory both made key free throws late in the game. Gregory scored a game-high 21 points, while DeShields had 13.
COACH TINKLE THIRD IN CAREER WINS: Griz head coach Wayne Tinkle's 149 career wins are the third most in UM history. Coach Tinkle needs six more victories to move up to second and pass Mike Montgomery, who had 154 career wins in eight seasons from 1979-86.
JAMAR EIGHTH IN CAREER SCORING & SEVENTH IN CAREER ASSISTS: Jamar has 1,432 career points which ranks him eighth in school history. He needs 53 more points to move past former guard Will Cherry, who scored 1,484 points from 2010-13.
Jamar now has 367 career assists, which moves him up to seventh all-time, passing J.R. Camel (365, 1996-98) and Roger Fasting (363, 1988-92). He needs just three more assists to pass Marc Glass (369 assists, 1980-84) for sixth, and only six more to go by M.R. Richardson for fifth (372 assists, 1974-78). (List on add 3-3-3).
