After a difficult loss Friday against UNLV, Montana (3-6, 2-1 BSC) suffered another loss on Saturday to Southern Utah (2-12, 1-3 BSC) to a 5-2 score at Cedar City.

Both the Grizzlies and Thunderbirds fought hard against each other during doubles. At No. 1, Veronika Rogova and Laura Martin Lozano defeated Hannah Sulz and Cam Kincaid 6-3. At No. 2, Evgenia Marushko and Teresa De Enrique Schmidt won 6-4 against Francis Dean and Catherine Orfanos. Doubles concluded at No. 3, when Lidia Dukic and Stanzi Stuijt defeated Charity Sagiao and Megan Bell 6-3.

Down 1-0 Montana knew it would have to dig deep to stop the Thunderbirds. Despite the Grizzlies' best effort, Southern Utah would come out of the match victors.

At No. 1, Rogova defeated Dean 6-3, 1-6, 6-3. At No. 2, Marushko won 6-3, 6-4 against Dukic.

At No. 3, De Enrique Schmidt defeated Sulz 4-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8). At No. 4, Kincaid won 6-1, 6-1 against Martin Lozano.

At No. 5, Orfanos defeated Emily Lemmon 6-0, 6-0. At No. 6, Sagiao won 6-3, 7-6 against Ana Carbo, cementing the 5-2 victory.

Montana will play next Saturday against Northern Arizona (9-6, 4-1 BSC) at 2 p.m. (MT) in Flagstaff.
